<span style="font-size: large;">It's that time of year again! The (NOI) National Ministry of Agriculture has secured the best Food Co-op program with bulk food purchase options for individuals and organizations. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">So while it is extremely urgent that we learn to grow our own food, it is equally important to <a href="http://www.finalcall.com/artman/publish/Minister_Louis_Farrakhan_9/article_100825.shtml">support the purchase and storage of quality food products in bulk</a>. This post supports that mission! </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Go online to <a href="http://www.noimoa.com/programsactivities/staplegoods/">http://www.noimoa.com/programsactivities/staplegoods/</a> and purchase your items today!</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">In addition, work with individuals in your community, church, organization or group to <a href="http://www.noimoa.com/buying-clubs/" target="_blank">establish a Food Cooperative</a> as well as multiple community food pantries. And, also encourage proper home food storage practices among families in our communties!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Since relocating to a new area, my ability to plant my food garden has changed drastically.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimpgTen8gu9DkfeRtSOQk6I_GKY7RK0byj772Y7y4zXoSWFuwe0z8fcBoc9MC3V3HRi2UTfRTmmCy99n1eOW5ZdGBjohhDnaFWcaTG7eiTDyIP0HLnqxhy83Zi5KQKdRTd2j_FKG1ZCJI/s1600/Family2009b+002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimpgTen8gu9DkfeRtSOQk6I_GKY7RK0byj772Y7y4zXoSWFuwe0z8fcBoc9MC3V3HRi2UTfRTmmCy99n1eOW5ZdGBjohhDnaFWcaTG7eiTDyIP0HLnqxhy83Zi5KQKdRTd2j_FKG1ZCJI/s320/Family2009b+002.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I did not realize that the mental health aspects of gardening would have such a detrimental impact on my ability to feel motivated, happy and ready to tackle life. Gardening is truly my therapy. I am a nature person by nature and when I begin gardening 6 years ago, I felt like this was what I had been missing.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Living in an apartment has surely presented me with a gardening challenge. Being the type of person that I am, I seem to think that "you can do anything if you put your mind to it"...lol! </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK4xi0YguRvM1P3-hi7YcLWWrPPOR8VfNIW6fhrLJ6Y5gVBmh4gjkKDRmAnUy_83DwEXqdEOieo81XZ0m3_TSwJdeh7SugF4RW0nPvSqzLW4UGXHgvTvuTa0zGRbqHA9PNusfsh0LSjJ0/s1600/DSC00519.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK4xi0YguRvM1P3-hi7YcLWWrPPOR8VfNIW6fhrLJ6Y5gVBmh4gjkKDRmAnUy_83DwEXqdEOieo81XZ0m3_TSwJdeh7SugF4RW0nPvSqzLW4UGXHgvTvuTa0zGRbqHA9PNusfsh0LSjJ0/s320/DSC00519.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Well, oops...this is embarassing...then why haven't I risen to the challenge yet? I have a sunroom, pots and seed to do it! What is it about the land, being in the sunlight, and taking in the great outdoors. Ahh, just thinking about it makes me smile!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Times; font-size: medium;">by Harith Salaam-Ron Nicholas, Sr.</span><br />
<div align="center"><img src="http://www.southwestlacc.com/fruitbasket1.jpg" /></div><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">Good health begins in the colon. The key is fiber in your diet. Whole grains, fruits and vegetables aren’t just good nutrition, they provide fiber that tones and cleanses the colon. Regular exercise also helps. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">The fundamental principle of true healing consists of a return to natural habits of living. Our illnesses are due directly to our rebellion against divine will and law. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">Sickness is not natural. Health is natural. When we are sick, something is wrong with the way we think and live and with what we eat and drink.<img height="112" src="http://www.southwestlacc.com/water.jpg" width="74" /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">To live a good and healthy life, we must fast and keep our colon clean. Tips to support proper colon function are:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">1. Drink plenty of good, clean water.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">2. Remember coffee, tea and soft drinks don’t count.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">3. Add plenty of fiber to your diet including whole grains, fruits and vegetables.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">4. Lower the amount of refined starches,sugar and processed foods in your diet.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">5. Exercise regularly, at least 3 times per week for 30 minutes.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">6. Take care of yourself by answering when nature calls, taking time for elimination.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">7. When traveling, try to maintain a normal diet and a regular sleep schedule.</span><br />

Who knew! One person can really make a difference. You can pick your own berries (a 1 gallon bucket) for a small donation. You can purchase vegetable plants, some for as little as a $1.00 and you can purchase excess for pennies on the dollar. This little spot is one of Lafayette's best kept secret...maybe not any more.<br />
The owner, so I was told is a retired ULL professor (agriculture science related) and does this as a hobby. What a hobby. Anyway, I love it.
