Food Co-op's & the Future of Food Security!

It's that time of year again!  The (NOI) National Ministry of Agriculture has secured the best Food Co-op program with bulk food purchase options for individuals and organizations.

So while it is extremely urgent that we learn to grow our own food, it is equally important to support the purchase and storage of quality food products in bulk.  This post supports that mission!

Go online to http://www.noimoa.com/programsactivities/staplegoods/ and purchase your items today!

In addition, work with individuals in your community, church, organization or group to establish a Food Cooperative as well as multiple community food pantries. And, also encourage proper home food storage practices among families in our communties!

What Happens To You & Your Garden When You Move?

What Happens To You & Your Garden When You Move?

Since relocating to a new area, my ability to plant my food garden has changed drastically.

I did not realize that the mental health aspects of gardening would have such a detrimental impact on my ability to feel motivated, happy and ready to tackle life.  Gardening is truly my therapy.  I am a nature person by nature and when I begin gardening 6 years ago, I felt like this was what I had been missing.

Living in an apartment has surely presented me with a gardening challenge.  Being the type of person that I am, I seem to think that "you can do anything if you put your mind to it"...lol!

Well, oops...this is embarassing...then why haven't I risen to the challenge yet?  I have a sunroom, pots and seed to do it!   What is it about the land, being in the sunlight, and taking in the great outdoors.  Ahh, just thinking about it makes me smile!
